In the end, I decided to give them a call to guide me through
the process of mixing; information which they were more than
willing to provide. Amazingly, I did not get a robot telling me
to press buttons on the phone, but rather an actual human
answered to me right away! He explained how to mix by helping
me to understand the process behind it, and suggested I
use the calculator if I want more precise results. I started by
deciding what I want my PG / VG ratio to be. I thought I’d go
with a 50 PG, 50 VG mix just for the sake of ease. He then
explained that I should decide what flavour I want my liquid to
be; I decided on vanilla custard and apple pie- great choice, I
know. He recommended that I start with 20% flavouring, 10%
of each flavour and then in the future begin experimenting and
discovering my preferences.
To do this I just took 2ml, or 20%, away from my total liquid
to save this space for flavours, and then had 50% of the
remaining space, 4ml, filled with PG, and the other half with
VG. Due to the fact that flavours are carried in PG, the result
will carry slightly more PG than VG overall, but that’s where a
calculator would come in handy. All I had to do then was put
1ml of each flavour into the mix to make a total of 10ml. I’m
going to leave nicotine out of the mix for now, but making an
e-liquid is surprisingly easy, and I’m sure I’d be able to add in
whatever I wanted and come out with a decent e-liquid. Make
My Vape also told me that there are lots of recipes I can follow
on their website if I get stuck for ideas, as well as many more
guides which give more in-depth explanations on the different
stages of mixing on the ‘how to mix’ page… I don’t think I’ll be
running out of resources any time soon.
Before I hung up the phone, I was also told that it’s best to
shake the mix up and leave it to steep for a day or two in
order to get a fuller flavour, so the liquid will be sitting in my
cupboard until tomorrow. I have enjoyed my experience with
Make My Vape and have also learnt how to mix an e-liquid
over the phone. The only complaint I could think of right now
is that the box wasn’t pretty enough, but the contents were

very colourful and much to my satisfaction; plus, everything
else just went so smoothly. I’d recommend Make My Vape to
anyone interested in mixing their own e-liquid and encourage
you to give them a try.
