Technological trends are some of the most amazing innovations to take off and watching them gain momentum can feel like watching a child take its first steps . Before you know it — just like a child who learns to walk , then run — technology evolves in ways that you never anticipated . And , on top of the idea itself , technological trends that gain participation through physical interaction experience explosive growth that ’ s really only comparable to feats of wonder .
Regardless of what you call it — a MOD , PV , eCig or Vaporizer — these devices have always exhibited the characteristics of a trend that ’ s on the cusp of breaking into the mainstream . PV users from 2008-2011 will remember a time when eCigs were taboo and largely unheard of by the public , yet still prolific . By 2012 , through the success of many online eCig vendors and the crushing weight of cigarette taxation across the country , eCigs finally found a fan base to help propel them into a national spotlight . Now , in 2013 , it appears as though the innovations of eCigs have finally taken enough baby steps to break into stride .
If ever there was an indication that vaping influence has grown , it was visible at both Vape Fest in NYC and Vape Bash in CHI . These two events , within a month of each other in different regions of the United States , attracted a crowd previously unseen before in the vaping community . In fact , Vape Bash , which Vaping Press ’ staff was lucky enough to attend , marks the largest gathering of vapers to date , capping out at around 1,600 people in three days . It ’ s these figures and nationally recognized events that add quantitative evidence to the idea that vaping is the way of the future .
With explosive innovation comes a number of hurdles with an equal number of triumphs . Where there is a progressive movement to ban eCig use in individual states , there is an achievement like Vape Bash or Vape Fest . Where there is a lack of government funded testing of vaporizers , there are private groups diligently working to administer their own . And , where there is continued misinformation about eCigs being circulated in mainstream media , there is Vaping Press .
As always , vape strong and vape on ,
Kyle Danowski
