N F REVIEWS R Salts - Pink Pyro Salts - Lemon Blast VG/PG Ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild (10mg/ml nicotine salt) VG/PG Ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild (10mg/ml nicotine salt) Firehouse Vape describe Pink Pyro as a summer fruits blend. The top note is a bright candy raspberry. It’s sweet, with a syrup-like texture, not dissimilar to the flavour you would expect from raspberry sorbet. It has some mild tartness but it’s not quite as pronounced in the salt formulation. This is complemented by moderate mixed berry notes, with traces of candy strawberry and a more natural blackcurrant. The mix is fi nished with a hint of something mildly citric and to my palate it would appear to be pineapple, which provides further tartness without overshadowing the raspberry top note. An ideal mix for low power devices. Lemon Blast is the Firehouse Vape take on the classic lemon tart profi le. The top note here is a reserved bakery lemon. It packs some of the tartness you would expect from the real thing but is tamed by slight creamy notes, reminiscent of a lemon curd. This is supported by a mild bakery vanilla, which gives the blend a boost of sweetness that you would expect from a lemon dessert. The mix is fi nished with a moderate bakery base, adding further buttery sweetness to the profi le without weighing it down too much. Compared to the original formulation, I found the lemon to be more prominent, which may be due to the low power devices it was designed for. Salts - Blues And Twos Salts - Green Watch VG/PG Ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild, with cooling (10mg/ml nicotine salt) VG/PG Ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild, with cooling (10mg/ml nicotine salt) Blues And Twos is a spearmint bubblegum blend, which has always been a popular profi le in the UK. The top note here is a moderate candy spearmint, which is full-flavoured but does not pack any of the herbal notes that you might expect from a more natural portrayal. This is supported by a sweet bubblegum base. As ever, this is a rather ambiguous flavour but it should be familiar to anyone who has tried a certain fruity bubblegum in the past. This is a simplistic, unpretentious mix that should suit new vapers nicely. It’s apparent that Firehouse Vape have upped the flavour concentration for the salt version, which in my view is a good choice. Green Watch is described as a tropical medley blended with watermelon. The top note here is a moderate candy watermelon. It brings plenty of sweetness to the mix, along with mild juicy mouthfeel. The main note of the tropical medley is a sweet mango to my palate. It’s more akin to a soda-style mango, rather than the more pungent south-east Asian flavour that is found in many other e-liquids. There may well be other tropical fruits in this supporting medley but they are diffi cult to discern as the mango is much more punchy. The mango also seems more prominent in the salt formulation compared to the original. White Watch Salts - 999 VG/PG Ratio: 70/30 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild, with cooling VG/PG Ratio: 50/50 Additional sweetener: Moderate Throat hit: Mild, with cooling (10mg/ml nicotine salt) Firehouse Vape describe White Watch as a secret blend of fruits with a menthol fi nish. Any veteran vaper will immediately recognise this as a twist on the classic Heisenberg profi le. The top note here is a moderate candy grape. It’s sweet and provides the mix with plenty of sticky mouthfeel. This is supported by a more reserved candy berry mix, which gives the blend some tartness and additional sweetness, without overpowering the grape top note. Normally in Heisenberg- style blends we expect a good helping of aniseed but in this case I’m not detecting any. The profi le is fi nished with an intense menthol, making for a refreshing and familiar fruit medley vape. 999 is an unconventional blend of mint and custard. The top note here is a heavy candy peppermint. It brings plenty of sweetness to the mix, along with some very mild herbal notes. This is supported by a moderate custard base, which gives a nice boost to the sweetness of the profi le, along with voluminous mouthfeel provided by the mild vanilla and dairy notes. Though pleasant, this mix reminds me more of a toffee mint hard candy than a minty custard, since the mint is much more dominant than the custard element. An enjoyable if unusual vape. 152 VAPER EXPO
