Prefilled pod systems such as JUUL have made vaping accessible
to even the most technologically averse. The convenience of a
maintenance-free experience is undeniable. Could the HEXA V2.0
compete with vaping’s most ubiquitous device?
The HEXA V2.0 is extremely light and slender. It doesn’t feel quite as
sturdy as some of its peers, but this is a compromise to achieve such
an inconspicuous weight and form factor. As a device that is clearly
aimed at smokers, choice to favour a lightweight design
makes sense.
In terms of functionality and user experience, the HEXA V2.0 could
not be simpler. This draw-activated device has no adjustable power or
airflow settings and the pre-fi lled pods slide into place with a satisfying
magnetic click. I was sceptical about the 350mAh cell but here the
HEXA V2.0 exceeds expectations. As a primary device with 20mg/ml
pods, I got just over half a day’s vaping and the device charged from
flat to full in just over half an hour.
The vape quality of the pods is quite surprising, too. HEXA have opted
for a freebase and salt nicotine “Hybrid Nicotine” blend so the 20mg/
ml pods provide a satisfying throat hit and speedy nicotine delivery
at the same time.
The ceramic coils produce a relatively warm vape with a moderately
tight MTL draw. The balance of airflow, vapour production and warmth
closely emulate a traditional cigarette. The full 2ml capacity is a nice
consumer-friendly touch. Each pod lasted last me just more than a
day as a primary device.
The hardware is certainly up to scratch, but flavour selection is just as
important with prefi lled pods. We sampled the following:

Raspberry Frost: A moderately sweet candy, with an icy fi nish and
soothing throat hit.
Menthol: Mildly sweet with a strong cooling fi nish.
Blueberry: A mellow candy blueberry, with hints of earthy sweetness
and some sticky body.
Tobacco: Light and smoky with moderate sweetness and some mild
nutty notes.
Mango: A pungent and sweet beverage-style mango with great throat
hit.
All the flavours were well-executed and make for a well-rounded line-
up. There are many more flavours are yet to come, too.
The HEXA V2.0 is a great all-round closed pod system, with good vape
quality and a nice selection of flavours. It’s a great option for new
vapers but also for veterans who need a hassle-free backup device.
The Hybrid Nicotine formula works well and will likely be a big hit with
those making the transition from traditional cigarettes.
