Love them or hate them, closed pod systems have democratised
vaping, allowing people of any level of knowledge to give the
technology a go. In the last 18 months, we’ve seen pods become
the most ubiquitous devices and the most competitive sector of
the market. The YOOZ is a new closed system which utilises FEELM
technology coils, which we’ve praised highly in the past.
Construction, fi t and fi nish are among the best in class for closed
systems. The aluminium unibody design feels solid and looks
professional, with a satin fi nish and no visible seams. The pod
connection is very secure, with absolutely no play. All previous
devices using FEELMtech coils have been nicely built and this is no
exception.
User experience is simplistic. This is a draw-activated device with
pre-fi lled pods, so no maintenance to speak of. An LED on the chassis
indicates when the device is fi ring and when the battery is depleted,
though it would be nice to see an additional level of battery feedback.
In terms of vape quality, the FEELMtech coils are outstanding for a
pod system. YOOZ have opted for a tight MTL draw, which results
in warm vapour, punchy flavour and an overall experience that
near perfectly emulates a traditional cigarette. In previous reviews
of FEELMtech pod systems, I’ve noted the accuracy of cigarette

emulation and in the case of the YOOZ, it’s another step up.
The small 350mAh internal cell provides surprisingly good run time,
too. I found it to last just over half a day’s moderate use on a charge
when using the EU edition 20mg/ml pods, which is a little more than I
would expect for the stated capacity. The device charges from flat to
full in 30 minutes and can be vaped while charging, too, so down time
is virtually non existent here.
We sampled four pre-fi lled pods during our testing period, here’s what
you can expect:
Mango: A bright soda-style mango with moderately strong coolant.
Butter Tobacco: A moderately dark tobacco with rich caramel, dairy
and vanilla notes.
Jasmine: A potent, authentic jasmine. Likely an acquired taste but
very authentic.
Ice Green Tea: A herbal matcha-style green tea with a moderate
coolant.
In summary, the YOOZ is among the very best closed pod systems
around at time of writing. It ticks a lot of boxes, from build quality,
to cigarette emulation and a diverse choice of flavours. This is a
fantastic choice for new vapers, or veterans in need of something
that’s plug and play without sacrifi cing vape quality.
