WANDERLUST LITE By Benedict Jones Specifi cations: - Dimensions: 80.5mm*21mm*21mm - Battery capacity: 1000mAh internal cell - E-liquid capacity: 2ml - Charging: 0.8A Micro-USB Chinese manufacturer Advken is best known for its solid subohm tanks and rebuildable atomisers but it’s 2019, so it would be strange if they didn’t release a pod system and the Wanderlust Lite is their fi rst such offering. Construction, fi t and fi nish are good but not outstanding. The body is lightweight yet solid, with a pleasant matte fi nish and colour gradient. The only seam on this device is for the pod connection and even this is very snug, securing with a fi rm press fi t. The pod itself is an odd shape but feels robust, with slightly thicker walls than most. Due to the way this system has been designed, it’s virtually shock-proof, which is great for users who need a device that will stand up to abuse. User experience is very simple. The pod fi lls from the bottom via a rubber gromet and I’ve experienced no leaks or overflow issues during my testing. It’s a draw-activated system, so no buttons or settings to worry about and all the battery feedback you could reasonably expect is displayed by a colour-changing LED. Due to this, I found bright fruit flavours to be the best option for the system, as more complex desserts simply don’t pop at such low temperatures. Battery life is quite impressive for such a small device. Advken state a 1000mAh cell and this seems about right, as I was consistently able to get a full day’s vaping on one charge when fi lled with 20mg/ ml nicotine salts. However I did fi nd performance to drop off towards the end of each charge cycle, likely due to the high resistance coil. I found the cell to charge from flat to full in just over an hour, which is acceptable given the run time of the device. In summary, the Advken Wanderlust Lite is a solid, but not outstanding, pod system. The main benefi ciaries of this design are those who need a rugged stealthy device that can run for a day on a charge and prefer a cooler vape. Hopefully Advken will release lower resistance pods in the near future for those who prefer a warmer, more saturated vape. In terms of performance and vape quality, the Wanderlust Lite is middle of the road. The airflow is more restrictive than most pod systems in 2019, providing a moderate MTL draw with slightly cool vapour. This is where the vape quality falls slightly short, since the 1.4Ohm ceramic coil feels like it could do with a touch more power than the internal cell provides on direct output. The result of this cooler vape is slightly muted flavour. It’s not terrible by any stretch of the imagination but it’s also not as saturated as it could have been. This issue could be fi xed with a slight tweak to future batches of pods, aiming for a lower resistance or coil mass. PROS - Solid build quality - User friendly - Leak free CONS - Quite a cool vape - Somewhat muted flavour VAPER EXPO 125
