CALI BAN ‘ UNJUSTIFIABLE ’
Several vape and tobacco companies have submitted a lawsuit challenging California ’ s ‘ draconian ban ’ on flavoured vape products . Senate Bill 793 was signed by Governor Gavin Newsome on August 28 . Non-profit trade association Neighborhood Market Association said that a dozen of its members will go out of business if the law takes effect . The defendants argued that California could have targeted youth use with increased enforcement and public health campaigns but instead chose to ban “ nearly every conceivable flavored tobacco product ” in an “ unjustified ” ban .

SIX MONTHS TO SUCCESS
One in five smokers who pick up a vape successfully quit smoking within six months , according to a recent study . The study examined smoking and vaping trajectories against quit rates in the Flanders region of Belgium . Participants filled out questionnaires assessing their smoking or vaping behaviour at three stages after the purchase of their first vape . The data showed an average cigarette reduction of 53 percent , from 17 a day at the start of the study to eight after six months . Further results revealed that 18 percent of the participants had quit smoking completely by the end and another 25 percent had halved their intake .
FAKE FIND
Juul Labs helped Chinese authorities bring down a massive counterfeit operation after a producer was found to be copying their product and selling them overseas . The counterfeit operation was one of the largest caught by the US giant which continues to crack down on the production of potentially harmful takes . The company , Shenzen Kang Ergiang Electronic Company , sold the fake Juul devices and flavor pods under the name , Sourvape Technology , going on to sell $ 324,000 worth of items over 16 months starting in 2018 . The factory operator was convicted in August before being sentenced to three years in prison .
