In March, the students at VAPA Legacy High School auditioned for Springfest, which will take place on May 25 and 26 , 2017. Springfest is an annual Spring Recital performed by the students at VAPA. The dance auditions took place in the dance room. Mr. Sanna Pickett and Mr. Noriega were the judges and picked the most qualified dances. There are 20 different types of dances in total for the show.
Springfest, consists of two days, music and dance. The first day is usually on a Thursday, which is music. That day mainly consists of performances by the music classes: Jazz Band, Choir,
are usually by the students who auditioned their own dances and by Mr.Sanna’s dance classes .
Accapella, etc. The following day, which is a Friday, are the dance performances. The dances are usually by the students who auditioned their own dances and by Mr.Sanna’s dance classes .
The students have about 2 months to prepare and practice for the show . Once it is the final week of preparation, there are about 2 mandatory run throughs. When the students have run through days, they have to dress in their official costume for that particular dance.They are also called on stage to practice their dance and adjust the lights for that certain dance.
