Vantage Vu Volume 21 | Page 20

Entertainment plays a huge and very influential role in many people’s lives, and we as Vantage Media we are looking to use the little voice that we have here at home and across the borders. We will be using the entertainment platforms to make our contribution towards fighting the rising Gender Based Violence that seems to increasing at an alarming rate in the country.

Women On Top was started as a simple project that would help young and upcoming (female) DJs get a chance to build their brands through winning this new and unique competition. This project was reworked earlier in 2019, and it was changed from a once a year DJ competition to a weekly event that will include well known and established (female) DJs alongside fresh and upcoming (female) DJs, we wanted to celebrate women beyond Women’s Month.

With all the heartbreaking murders and raping of women, as Vantage Media, the creators of Women On Top needed to voice our support for women out there, and we did not want to just talk/write about it and not really make a difference, we wanted to do something that would actively make a difference in helping women fight this war.

As Women On Top is now a weekly event, we have decided that all our ticket sales to these events will not go into our pocket, but will contributed to various movements and organizations that are actively fighting for women out there, and help fund cases that need assistance in fighting for women’s rights and safety.

Any organizations or NPO that is dedicated to anywhere in South Africa that would like to receive one of these contributions from Vantage Media’s Women On Top events can easily contact us via email at [email protected] or our Gmail account at [email protected]

We will profile the organizations or NPOs in our magazine (Vantage Vu Mag) to shine more light on their efforts to help and fight for women and their rights!!!
