2021 MAGICIAN OF TH YEAR
This is a very special edition of VANISH as we announce the 2021 VANISH Magician of the Year Award . Our search for this title takes over a year as we have been asking readers to nominate magicians they feel are deserving of this award . One name that kept coming up was Shane Cobalt . His nomination came from Europe , however he resides in Canada . As you will find out in the exclusive intervew VANISH did with Shane , he has an incredible knowledge on the history of magic , and is an encylopedia of methods and techniques in a variety of magic from cards and coins to historic illusions . As a performer he has travelled the world for high-end private parties and is regarded by many of the well known names in magic as the ' go-to ' magician for consulting . From Blaine to Copperfield he continues to bring his expertise to a variety of projects . We are extremely proud to bestow our 2021 Magician of the Year Award to Shane Cobalt . Another celebration is our collaboration with Connie Boyd and her series on ' Magical Women .' I am in incredibly proud of the work we have done with Connie highlighting a vast range of incredible performers . She has incredible interviews from so many wonderful performers who share a wealth of material and stories .
This issue also wraps up Steve Spill ' s five part series on creating original magic . For those who want to be more creative then this series has given some valuable insight in to key points about this process .
