MOG seeks contractors for topside valves project
MODEC Guyana Inc . ( MOG ) has issued a Request for Information ( RFI ) for skilled manpower to execute the Topside Valves Signature on the Errea Wittu floating production storage and offloading ( FPSO ) unit . The project is scheduled to commence after 2026 during the vessel ’ s planned shutdown .
Contractors are required to provide high-quality service , maintain detailed records and ensure their workforce is fully qualified for the tasks . The Errea Wittu will be the fifth FPSO deployed offshore Guyana , contributing to a total oil production increase of over 1.1 million barrels per day . The FPSO is being constructed for the Uaru development in the Stabroek Block , operated by ExxonMobil . ExxonMobil holds a 45 % stake in the block , with Hess and CNOOC holding 30 % and 25 % respectively .

KLINGER valves for airport fuel storage
KLINGER Peru has collaborated on a valve project for Jorge Chávez International Airport in Peru as part of the facility ’ s ongoing expansion . The airport , which opened in the 1960s , has undergone consistent upgrades to accommodate increasing traffic and meet international standards . In 2000 , a consortium of Peruvian and foreign companies took over management of the airport and initiated a multi-year expansion project . KLINGER Peru was approached for valve assistance , resulting in the development of a custom double block and bleed valve . Sixty of these custom valves will be used for circulation and fuel storage in the first phase of the airport expansion , specifically for a station and terminals serving cargo aircraft . The KLINGER Peru team successfully met the project ’ s technical and time constraints , refining their inhouse assembly process to deliver ready-to-use valves .
Chevron Phillips Chemical awards contract to Technip Energies
Technip Energies has secured an Engineering and Procurement contract from Chevron Phillips Chemical to supply a proprietary Low Emission Cracking Furnace for an existing olefins unit at its Sweeny , Texas facility .
The low-emission design aims to reduce fuel consumption and CO2 emissions by approximately 30 %. Technip Energies ’ patented design focuses on improving fuel efficiency through a novel heat recovery scheme , incorporating combustion air preheat and a firstof-its-kind gas-to-gas primary feed effluent exchanger . The project includes the electrification of a major compressor driver . Additionally , the furnace ’ s capability to use hydrogen as fuel enables immediate and future reductions in the unit ’ s carbon intensity .
Severn has designed its OCT TOV Butterfly Valve with a focus on safety , particularly addressing shaft blowout prevention . This feature is crucial for improved valve performance and reduced operational downtime in industrial and process industries . The valve incorporates antiblowout mechanisms at both ends as standard . At the drive end , a reduced shaft diameter prevents blowout through the packing follower . The blank end features multiple safety elements , including an antiblowout ring on the threaded shaft end and a locked end plate designed to withstand full rated test pressures . These design elements aim to eliminate the risk of shaft ejection , which can occur if coupling mechanisms such as dowel pins , taper pins , or keyways fail . By preventing shaft blowouts , Severn ’ s valve design addresses a significant safety concern and helps maintain the pressure envelope of the valve , preventing process leakage into the atmosphere .
