Conval introduces Clampseal unit tandem blowdown valves
Vogt Hydrogen division presents the C-330 series
New Clampseal unit tandem blowdown valves for boiler blowdown and bottom blow-off service are now available from Conval . The high-performance , severe service valves effectively control the flow of steam / fluid under high differential pressure . Clampseal unit tandem blowdown valves will be supplied in hard seat x hard seat and right and left-hand configurations . They will be available in 1 ” through 2-1 / 2 ” sizes , and with ASME Class 300 through 2500 pressure ratings . Standard materials include ASME SA-105 carbon steel and F22 alloy steel . Other materials are available upon request . End connections include socket weld , butt weld , or flanged . Design features include in-line serviceability ; uniform singlepiece gland with Conval ’ s unique integral gland wrench ; cartridgetype packing chamber ; pressure seal backseat ; simple drop-in replacement of many other valve brands ; two-year warranty ; and exceptional total life cycle value .
CORTEC launches wellhead plug catcher
Vogt valves will participate in Gastech 2022 in Milan where will present its new C-330 series of bellows sealed globe valves designed for liquid hydrogen applications . Vogt Valves opened a new plant dedicated entirely to the production of deep cryogenic service valves in Cenate , Bergamo , Italy on May 22 . The facility includes clean room facilities to aerospace grade specification and equipment able to achieve testing temperature to -254C with a cryocooler specifically built for Vogt in cooperation with the Istituto Nazionale di Fisica Nucleare ( National Institute of Nuclear Physics ). The plant produce manual , actuated and control bellows sealed globe valves , special check valves , segmented ball valves , and triple offset butterfly valves for liquid hydrogen , oxygen and helium service . In line with the Group ESG policies , the plant will achieve a further step toward a lower Carbon Footprint goal with the planned installation of a 1GW solar energy plant scheduled for the 1st quarter of 2023 at the Cenate compound .

CORTEC , a manufacturer of highquality API valves , has launched its new , compact , Wellhead Plug Catcher , which is installed directly between the wellhead and the production choke . Fracking and plug parts returning to the surface is a common problem in shale wells . The userfriendly Wellhead Plug Catcher is installed upstream of a wellhead production choke and features an internal screen that is utilized to filter out large debris to prevent it from clogging or damaging a choke . This will improve choke life and performance , improving operators ’ revenues . Stephen Corte , vice president , COR- TEC , said , “ Plug and other debris catching devices have been used in the industry for many years now , but CORTEC ’ s compact Wellhead Plug Catcher is being utilized in a new application and specifically developed to improve choke service life and minimize down time for servicing . Operators fighting substantial well debris using this product will gain increased choke trim life while experiencing less handling and downtime fighting debris . We have now installed hundreds of these units in the field and are very pleased with the positive response from our customer base .” The device has been evaluated and sized by the CORTEC engineering team to accommodate substantial plugging within the screen and still provide full capacity flow . The screen design has been fieldproven and designed through consultation with field operators .
