Adani Group to build PVC plant in Gujarat , India
component of ADNOC ’ s integrated gas masterplan as well as an important enabler of gas selfsufficiency for the United Arab Emirates ( UAE ).
PGPIC mega petrochemical plant
The Adani Group is planning to build a coal to polyvinyl plant in Mundra in the Gujarat region of India . The project ’ s setup will likely cost a total of about ₹ 19,000 crore . The facility is anticipated to be a component of Adani Group ’ s ambitions to establish a petrochemical cluster in Mundra . The plant will be able to produce goods including emulsion PVC , suspension PVC , and chlorinated PVC at a rate of 2,000-kilo tons per year ( KTPA ). At Mundra , a total of two million metric tons of PVC will be produced . By 2024 , when the project is expected to be put into service , the first phase of the 2,000 KTPA project will be completed . The group entered the petrochemicals industry in 2021 and is looking to create a petrochemical cluster in Mundra .
ADNOC awards USD 2 Bln gas contract
Persian Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company ( PGPIC ) has begun the construction of a mega petrochemical complex at Mahshahr Petrochemical Special Economic Zone in southwestern Iran . The plant will feature an olefin unit with production capacity of 1.26 tons of ethylene and 420,000 tons of propylene . It is expected to create direct jobs for 5,000 people . The plant will also house five polymer units including a polypropylene unit , a monoethylene glycol ( MEG ) unit , a butadiene unit , linear lowdensity polyethylene ( LLDPE ) unit and two units of high-density polyethylene ( HDP ), said Iranian media reports quoting PGPIC MD Jafar Rabiei . PGPIC has collaborated with Arvand petrochemical and Bandar Imam for the mega project .
Mexico ’ s Pemex to upgrade six refineries
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company ( ADNOC ) has awarded two contracts totaling USD 2 billion ( AED 7.49 billion ) to ADNOC Drilling for the Hail and Ghasha Development Project . The contracts comprise USD 1.3 billion for integrated drilling services and fluids , and USD 711 million for the provision of four Island Drilling Units . A third contract , valued at USD 681 million was also awarded to ADNOC Logistics & Services for the provision of offshore logistics and marine support services . Overall , more than 80 % of the value of the awards will flow back into the UAE ’ s economy under ADNOC ’ s successful In-Country Value ( ICV ) program and all three of the contracts will cover the Hail and Ghasha drilling campaign for a maximum of ten years . Octavio Romero , director of Mexican state oil Pemex , said the company will work on improving its six refineries after completing during the first half of the six-year period the construction of a new 340,000 barrels-per-day ( bpd ) refinery with a USD 10-billion investment . Separately , Lopez Obrador and Mexican Secretary of Energy , Rocio Nahle , participated on July 1 in a ceremony to celebrate the end of construction of the 340,000 barrels per day Olmeca refinery in Dos Bocas , also in Tabasco . The plant is not yet operational . July 1 marked four years since Lopez Obrador ’ s electoral victory that led to his inauguration as president in December 2018 and exactly three years since the start of construction .
