Bottom profile: A sloping bottom is recommended for solids-laden flow because it leaves no standing, stagnant water in the valve. Full-port designs further reduce head loss and improve flushing.
Flush ports: Flanged inline duckbills with top and bottom flush ports let maintenance crews clear an obstruction without dismantling the valve, a significant operational advantage over swing gate designs.
Using the replacement cycle
