Shut-off and control valves for food industry KLINGER ball valves for H2 pioneers
With the EHEDG-certified 6051 aseptic right-angle valve and the new 3A-compliant 6052 hygienic rightangle valve , Schubert & Salzer Control Systems offers high-precision control valves and reliable shut-off valves for numerous processes in the food and beverage industry . Both sanitary valves can be executed as a shut-off or control valve . The characteristic of the 6051 aseptic
right angle valves and the new 6052 hygienic right angle valve , which is now 3A-compliant , is their outstanding ability to be cleaned for use in food manufacturing and beverage technology sectors , e . g . in dairies . This enables , above all , optimal flow behaviour and a valve body made of pore-free stainless steel bar stock material with minimal roughness . A PTFE-coated diaphragm separating the process chamber and the valve actuator is also completely resistant to the high temperatures encountered in SIP or CIP processes . The type 8028 sliding gate valve controls liquid , gaseous or vaporous media with high precision . At a nominal size of DN100 , for instance , the installation height of the GS1 , the most compact version , is only 487 millimetres . The slide gate technology controls the flow rate in milliseconds , by two slotted discs arranged vertically to the direction of flow moving on top of each other in a linear manner . The actuator must therefore only overcome the sliding friction between both discs . That reduces the actuating force by 90 % compared to globe valves with the same nominal size at the same differential pressure and is particularly low on wear .
In Europe ’ s largest hydrogen electrolysis plant , products from KLINGER Gebetsroither are now ensuring operational safety . The Austrian company has designed and supplied valves for hydrogen in cooperation with the Tyrolean food retailer MPreis . MPreis has invested EUR 13M in the largest single-stack electrolysis system in Europe to date at the company ’ s location in Völs . The hydrogen , produced from renewable sources , will also be utilised for a large bakery and its transport trucks . Around 200 KLINGER ball valves were installed in the H2 plant , including around 70 KLINGER KHA-FL-XC stainless steel ball valves and double-block-and-bleed ( DBB ). Around 130 other valves , such
as steel ball valves ( KHA-FL-VIII ), monoball ball valves , brass ball valves , and non-return valves have also been installed . KLINGER Gebetsroither demonstrated its competence in dealing with sensitive media from the moment the order was placed . “ We were able to point out to the customer that the tender listed a number of specifications for the high-pressure area that were not necessary for the hydrogen system . Our PN40 valves are already designed for the standard operating pressure of 36 bar . We were therefore able to offer both a technically and financially ideal solution ,” says Markus Fuchs , sales technician and product manager at KLINGER Gebetsroither .
Red Valve introduces Type A Pinch Valve
Introduced and patented by Red Valve , the air-actuated Type A Pinch Valve offers a unique , cost-effective solution to flow control problems . More Red Valve Type A Valves are in use than any other Pinch Valve worldwide . The secret is in the rubber sleeve – the valve ’ s only wetted part . Actuation is accomplished by air or hydraulic pressure placed on the sleeve . The valve body acts as a built-in actuator , eliminating costly pneumatic , hydraulic or electric actuators . Adding air pressure within the annular space between the body and the sleeve can open , throttle , or close the valve . The sleeve ’ s flexibility allows the valve to close drop-tight around entrapped solids , eliminating hang-ups that can damage the valve . The sealing area is equal to 95 % of the valve ’ s length . With Red Valve Type A Pinch Valves , there are no seats or packing to replace , or cavities or dead spots to collect debris and bind valve operation . Their abrasion resistance is unmatched . When the valve is open , it is like a straight piece of pipe in the line . Type A Valves are used in remote locations or harsh environments since there are no external links , levers , pistons , or rotating parts to cause downtime . In general , 25-35 psi over line pressure is required for full closure of Red Valve Type A Pinch Valves .
