Celebrating 60 years of AUMA
After making it 60 years in the industry , AUMA talks about how it celebrated and share some thoughts on the journey .

In September , AUMA celebrated its 60th anniversary with more than 3,000 invited guests consisting of employees , their families and friends at its headquarters in Muellheim , Germany .
Celebrating together
Throughout the day , the guests enjoyed a diverse programme and the culinary delights of numerous food trucks and the company restaurant . There was entertainment for the many children , such as a bouncy castle , human table football and a training workshop , where activities included fishing for soft toys controlled by robotic arms . Visitors were also able to go and view the modern production facilities on tours of the factory halls . CEO Dr . Jörg Hoffmann and CSO Ferdinand Dirnhofer thanked their many guests , going on to say “ AUMA ’ s success is the result of many years of hard work , loyalty and a high level of commitment for our customers from all our employees .”
Looking back
When the company was founded in 1964 in Ostfildern-Nellingen , close to Stuttgart , it already bore the brand name AUMA and a clear business plan . Armaturen- Und Maschinen Antriebe – AUMA for short – would become a manufacturer of electric actuators for industrial valves . Werner Riester was responsible for R & D while Rudolf Dinse looked after sales and finance . The young company developed successfully in its founding years and in 1971 moved to Muellheim to expand further . “ I was always convinced that our company would be successful ,” said company co-founder Werner Riester , “ but I would never have thought that we would one day become the global market leader for electric actuators .” Today , AUMA has over 2,800 employees worldwide and actuators that are used worldwide in water and wastewater treatment , flood protection , power generation , oil and gas , and other industries .
