Baker Hughes to acquire Continental Disc Corporation
Baker Hughes( BKR), an energy technology company has agreed to acquire Continental Disc Corporation
( CDC), a provider of safety-critical pressure management solutions, from investment partnerships
managed by Tinicum Incorporated in an all-cash transaction for approximately USD 540M. Headquartered in Liberty, Missouri, CDC designs and manufactures rupture discs, rupture disc holders, burst disc indicators, pressure- and vacuum-relief valves, flame and detonation arrestors and related safety products. These products, which are highly complementary to Baker Hughes Industrial & Energy Technology’ s( IET) existing Control Valve and High-Pressure Relief Valve offerings, are deployed across a broad range of
industries, including applications across pharmaceutical, chemical, food and beverage, oil and gas, and aerospace markets. The CDC acquisition, along with the recently announced Surface Pressure Control( SPC) transaction and sale of the Precision Sensors & Instrumentation( PSI) product line, advances Baker Hughes’ portfolio optimisation strategy designed to drive more durable earnings and cash flow. These actions reflect the company’ s disciplined approach to capital allocation, with a focus on core businesses that offer compelling return potential.
Penspen secures multi-million-pound contract

Weidouli Valves supports national key R & D programme
The kick-off meeting and implementation plan demonstration meeting of the national key R & D programme“ High-performance Manufacturing Technology and Major Equipment” key project“ Plasma High Energy Beam Composite Surface Treatment Process and Equipment” was successfully held at the Ningbo Institute of Materials Technology and Engineering, Chinese Academy of Sciences. The meeting focused on the plasma high energy beam composite surface treatment process and equipment. Attendees discussed the technical support for national strategic industries, jointly planning industrial future and key technological breakthroughs. During the meeting, Project Leader Researcher Wang Yongxin reported on the core contents such as the project’ s technical route. The task leader detailed the implementation plan, and experts provided constructive opinions, stressing team collaboration. The implementation plan was unanimously approved. Looking ahead, to achieve the strategic goal of transforming China from a manufacturing country into a manufacturing powerhouse, it is crucial to promote industrial structure optimisation and upgrading and realise high-quality development in manufacturing.
