With a well-needed summer break, Valve World is back for our August issue and a special topic on Severe Service.
I hope you are all having a wonderful summer, whether that’ s away or at home. And I also hope that Valve World magazine will be accompanying you on your travels or on your coffee table, as this issue is packed with technical articles and thought-provoking information that is more than worth the read.
We start off by welcoming OHL Gutermuth to the cover of Valve World magazine. In our exclusive interview with Wolfgang Röhrig, we are guided through the process and precision of OHL’ s valves and the new green transitions and technologies that they are working on.
Another exclusive that we are welcoming to the magazine is a unique end-user interview with Heineken, where two of my colleagues from Valve World got to go to the Heineken factory in Den Haag and experience up close the happenings and developments of the factory.
Whilst we have an exciting start, this is just the beginning of a packed magazine. We welcome technical articles from many fields of research, such as fugitive emissions and tackling leakages, valve packing, pressure limits in pressure vessels and the importance of torque calculation in opening and closing valves correctly.
Our special topic of Severe Service has also been represented with fruitful and impressive articles, such as the success of metal-seated ball valves in demanding conditions, coating limitations in hydrometallurgy applications and the need for efficiency in cavitation risk assessments.
Of course, whilst Valve World magazine came to a stop for a month, the industry did not, meaning that this magazine is showered with many news updates and market outlooks for you to catch up on.
Two important updates within our community include the retrospect of the Valve World Americas show and to mark in your agenda the Valve World Southeast Asia Expo and Conference on 24 th-25 th September 2025!
Again, we appreciate your feedback and comments on this issue and welcome you to contribute your knowledge and expertise. http:// www. youtube. com / user / kcipub
