Valmet is optimizing its production operations and has opened a new production unit at its valve factory located in Vantaa , Finland to respond to the demand for high-volume valve products . The new unit and the layout modifications to the current factory will free up space for the production of special valves and bring more efficiency to demanding project deliveries . “ Global business requires modern , efficient , and responsible production that adapts to customers ’ needs and guarantees deliveries even in exceptional circumstances . Vantaa is one of Valmet ’ s main flow control technology centers . Every year , a total of 130,000 valves , valve controls , and actuators are manufactured at the Vantaa factory for delivery to customers operating in different process industries around the world . Valmet entered into the flow control business in April 2022 , when the flow control company Neles was merged into Valmet . Neles is now a Flow Control business line in Valmet .
Fluor Corporation ( FLR ) was awarded a full notice-to-proceed ( FNTP ) contract by New Fortress Energy Inc ., for the engineering , procurement , and fabrication management of the NFE Fast LNG 2 project . The project is a nominal 1.4 million tonnes per annum LNG gas treating and liquefaction plant to be placed on fixed offshore platforms . Fluor will book the undisclosed reimbursable contract value in the second quarter of 2022 . “ Fluor , in conjunction with key licensors and suppliers , provides NFE with an integrated modular mid-scale LNG export solution for these projects ,” said Jim Breuer , Fluor ’ s Energy Solutions group president . “ The Fluor design and execution plan facilitates repeatable project models that can be used to replicate similar plants in the future .”
Samson valves for hydrogen plant
SAMSON supplied the valves for an innovative hydrogen plant operated by Tyrol ’ s largest grocery store chain , MPRE- IS . The electrolysis system will produce enough green hydrogen to fire up the ovens of the chain ’ s own Bäckerei Therese Mölk bakery and power the truck fleet . “ Our objective is to generate enough sustainable hydrogen to power all of our 45 trucks ,” says Mr . Ewald Perwög , head of MPREIS Sustainable Energy Solutions who initiated the project . The head of the SAMSON engineering for Austria ’ s west , Mr . Amir Habibelahian , is very proud that SAMSON products can contribute to the success of this project . The 59-yearold engineer operates out of the nearby town of Kematen , where the office of SAMSON Mess- und Regeltechnik GmbH is located . Mr . Habibelahian played an important role in having the Type 3241 Globe Valves selected for the ultramodern H2 plant . MPREIS had been using such valves in another field of application for years , trusting in their reliable , precise control behavior and their rugged , compact design . The singlestack electrolyzer being started up is currently the largest of its type in Europe .
