The workshop on fugitive emission valve packing focuses on the importance of proper valve packing to prevent leaks , and minimize fugitive emissions of harmful gases or chemicals .
Understanding the risks and environmental impact of fugitive emissions , and the regulations and standards in place to control and monitor them , will be covered along with identifying different types of valve packing .
Packing installation will also be covered including techniques for valve packing , selection of appropriate packing materials and size , and application of lubrication .
