Skids featuring eight through conduit slab gate valves, four root valves, and five pressure transmitters with a manifold, were supplied by IMI to Larsen & Toubro. The custom-designed skids are part of a high-integrity pressure protection system for the Hasbah
Gas Field expansion project in Saudi Arabia.
Meanwhile, Valtorc International revealed an award from a US oil refinery for automated high-performance, electrically automated valves to replace existing, non-functioning models.
Ready access to spares is a consideration during valve selection. In that light, note that Valmet has signed a nationwide agreement with Petrobras covering the supply of spare parts for Neles valves, actuators, and positioners across all Petrobras operational units. Valmet also announced an agreement to acquire Severn Group – a move said to further strengthen its Process Performance Solutions segment.
Unwanted leaks from flare systems were the focus of a Tracero blog post. Stating that one approach to reducing unnecessary flaring is ensuring the integrity of PSVs through effective leak testing, the post outlines the benefits of using radioactive tracer gas technology to detect any leaks.
Finally, Rotork supplied more than 200 actuators to an upstream gas processing platform. Destined for use in the Dutch North Sea, the actuators will support the electrification and automation of the platform, which is all part and parcel of a near-zero initiative. •
