The Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auto Auction 2017 Experience By the Arizona Consortium for the Arts
The Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction is a car lover ’ s dream , and this year ’ s event had some great vehicles to appreciate , vendors to patronize , and activities for all ages .
Arizona Consortium for the Arts was there to cover some special moments , including vehicles auctioned to benefit charities . One example was a Hennessey Venom GT owned by rock star Steven Tyler , which was auctioned off to benefit the Janie ’ s Fund charity . This car is one of 12 ever produced and the first convertible of its kind . The car sold for $ 800,000 , which included a week ’ s vacation at Steven ’ s Maui beach house and a signed guitar by the members of Aerosmith .
Photographing and covering this event is a car lover ’ s dream .
As an arts and culture organization , it was of particular interest for us to see many artists exhibiting and selling their masterpieces , from fine art to sculptures .
