Visiting a slaughterhouse and witnessing firsthand what goes on there every day turned my life around … The callousness and the cruelty of the meat & milk industry cannot be overstated . In essence , anybody who eats the murdered carcass of an innocent animal cannot claim to be truly compassionate . Indeed , to do so willingly is nothing short of a crime of the vastest proportions . For me at least , it has simply become too painful to silently listen to the hideous lies and chronic self-delusion that comes from the mouths of those who profit from – and who financially support – this most terrible & ghastly trade ."
