Willis L. Miller Library expects to reopen Fall 2026

by RACHEL LARSON

The Willis L. Miller Library is expecting to reopen in the fall of 2026. The library has been closed since September of last year due to damage caused by Hurricane Helene.

The library was originally expecting to reopen in the fall of 2025, but the opening has been pushed back to fall 2026.
“ We were told the renovation would take approximately one year from start date. We received $ 1.5 million from the insurance company in March of 2025 and $ 3 million from the state— which will be a reimbursement— in May of 2025,” said Leslie Partridge, director of marketing, outreach, and cataloging for the South Georgia Regional Library.
