A place to play
Picking the perfect park
by RACHEL LARSON
One of the hardest choices to make during the summer is what to do with all of the extra daylight. Sure, it’ s easy to stay inside – where the air conditioning is – but there are benefits to venturing outside: it improves mood, increases your intake of vitamin D and encourages physical activity.
Fortunately for locals living in and around the Valdosta-Lowndes area looking to spend their time outside, there are numerous parks to explore and enjoy this summer.
“ There is a lot of adventure to be found in our community,” said Jessica Catlett, Marketing and PR Director of Valdosta-Lowndes Parks and Recreation Authority.“ There’ s nature, there’ s exploration, and it’ s all right here in our parks in Valdosta and Lowndes county.”
