Samantha Fox , the current Miss South Georgia Pride , will return to the event this June .
Kellie Trent , South Georgia Pride board member , said , “ We want it to be family-friendly , promoting inclusion and love . Obviously , as a hetero adult , I have never had to deal with any hatefulness directed towards me for my sexuality . But I ’ ve been around it all my life , and I ’ ve seen people I care about have to go through that .
“ Unfortunately , it ’ s a problem that for many members of the community starts at home with family members who don ’ t accept them ,” Trent said . “ That ’ s why South Georgia Pride and this festival is important to me , to provide a safe space for those who don ’ t have it at home .”
