The Oquendo family continue to grieve the loss of their son and brother , Brexton .
Brexton and only one of them taking them to school each day .
“ We have to move forward because we still have two other children to raise ,” Sibrana said . “ We felt that we neglected their needs for almost two years because we were primarily focused on Brexton .”
The Oquendos have been putting their hearts together after the loss of Brexton .
They continue to navigate , advocate and listen to others .
Blake said , “ Throughout our grief journey we have learned to be more understanding and sensitive to others because there is no greater pain than losing a child .”
The Oquendos developed a foundation in honor of Brexton , to help those that might need help navigating the Child Heart Disease community .
“ The Brexton Foundation will allow us to always be there for other parents in smaller communities like ours to know that there are others going through CHD and are here with open arms ,” the Oquendos said .
