For those who don ’ t know , I absolutely love Christmas .
Growing up , Christmas began after Thanksgiving lunch was over . We would all eat Thanksgiving lunch at my grandmother ’ s house together and agree to go home , change clothes , and meet at Eames Christmas tree farm to pick the perfect tree .
It was family tradition for us to take pictures at the tree farm , and you could guarantee my grandmother would pick the fattest tree that often did not fit correctly inside her house . My dad would load them up in the back of his pickup and deliver them all . By the time he got home with ours , my mom , sister , and I would already have the lights untangled and the ornaments unpacked . It was always a debate on colored lights or white lights though .
We would decorate the tree as a family , and somehow every year Father of the Bride would be playing ; it quickly became one of my favorite traditions and favorite movies .
As I grew older , my mom began to let me help her put out her Snow Village . It was something I cherished as a child , and have since cherished myself .
I began my own village collection two years ago , and have steadily started adding pieces along the way . This magazine is an ode to all things Christmas and memories past .
I hope this issue reminds you of all that is merry and bright , and maybe of your childhood wonders as well .
It goes without saying that while all these are fun and magical times , that the true celebration is the birth of our Savior Jesus Christ . I pray this season that you experience the true meaning of Christmas and the Lord ’ s unconditional love for everyone .
