What started with dog portraits and commissions soon grew into a thriving career . Today , Wacter ’ s style reflects a blend of realism and impressionism , focusing on the interplay of light and color . While watercolor served as her medium of choice in college , she found her true love in oils .

“ When I started with oils , the vibrancy of the colors and the way it captured light and the landscape completely blows watercolors out of the way for me ,” she shared .
Her work , particularly in landscapes , captures a sense of place and emotion , often enhanced by her fondness for plein-air painting ( The process of painting outside ).
