Q : How do you communicate and build relationships with students and parents ? Sindy : “ I communicate and build relationships with students and parents by creating a safe place for the students to be themselves while mentoring
Q : What do you consider the most challenging aspect of being a teacher ? Sindy : “ The most challenging aspect of being a teacher is the expectation of being all things to students through the rigid policies and funding in a classroom by yourself . There are no teacher aids , no real breaks , and insufficient supplies to do what is expected for the salary teachers are paid . It takes a particular type of person wired to have an authentic heart for the young minds we have seen in the past and today post-COVID-19 . The entire educational community endures way more than any other profession known to man but is compensated far less than these same professions . Without teachers or educators , our world would not have advanced as it has .”
Q : What are your hobbies ? Sindy : “ My hobbies are working out , serving in the community as a child advocate , serving in ministry , and finding ways to support aged-out foster care youth beyond high school .”
Q : What is the best advice you received ? Sindy : “ Never forget your why because your why will get you out of bed every day to take on this thing called life . It will also keep you focused on the solutions waiting for you to discover every problem you will face ! – Holy Spirit .”
