A Letter to You

The Valdosta Daily Times is pleased to present In Plain Sight ; a striking collection of hand painted murals , one-of-akind sculptures , and public art pieces unique to Valdosta and Lowndes County !
In Plain Sight is a master guide to the artistry being created and displayed in our community every day . We are building a living , breathing , outdoor art gallery that is within view , 24 hours a day , 365 days a year .
These works of art directly support cultural tourism , furthering economic growth by creating a space attractive to new visitors .
A magnet that draws people back to our city again and again . In short , people come where they ’ re invited but return where they feel welcome ! It also brings a sense of pride to locals , which is a wonderful enhancement to the quality of life for our residents !
This would not have been possible without a big , beautiful , bubbling vision from Jessica Ganas at Curate , the generous help of the Valdosta-Lowndes
Public Arts Advisory Committee , the insight of the staff at the Annette Howell Turner Center for the Arts , masterful photography from Matthew Zagorski and the always inspired design and layout from Sarah Warrender .
And with that , enjoy ! Use this as a guide to regional creativity ! Learn a little history about each piece . Visit some art you didn ’ t know existed . Take a selfie and tag us . Be inspired ! And keep an eye out for something beautiful . It might just be In Plain Sight !
