OktOBERfest at Ober: Sept 22 – Oct 29
OktOBERfest is a beloved event which takes place every October and celebrates some
of the time-honored traditions of the original OktOBERfest in Munich, Germany. There are
plenty of activities and lots of fun to be had by visitors of all ages.
Sugarlands Mountainfest: Sept 28 – Oct 1
For four days this fall, outdoor enthusiasts will gather to enjoy live musical performances,
competitive races, outdoor competitions, craft cocktails, award-winning spirits and
brews—all in the breathtaking mountains of East Tennessee.
Ripley’s Fright Nights: Sept 30 – Oct 31
Ripley’s Haunted Adventure will hold its 19th Annual Fright Nights show, “Contamination”!
Dr. Streaper has gone completely mad and is contaminating all the residents, patients,
and even the soldiers trying to stop him with a mutant virus! Visitors can enjoy a screaming
good time at these shows on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights in October as well as
September 30th and October 31st.
Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair: Oct 5 – Oct 22
The Gatlinburg Craftsmen’s Fair October is the premier holiday shopping destination, and
is celebrating its 42nd year of showcasing arts and crafts in the Smokies. Visit over 180 of
the finest craftspeople from all over the United States. Watch as they demonstrate their skill,
answer questions and offer their unique art for sale.
Winter Magic Kickoff & Chili Cook-off: Nov 8
Offering mouth-watering recipes of homemade chili ranging from mild and delightful to
wild and adventurous, the City of Gatlinburg hosts its annual Winter Magic Kickoff and
Chili Cookoff on Wednesday, Nov. 8 from 5 to 8 p.m. in downtown.
City dignitaries will signify the start of Gatlinburg Winter Magic with a ceremonial lighting
of more than 3 million lights throughout the city.”
Participants in the Chili Cook-off will be competing for the coveted People’s Choice Award,
Best Booth Presentation. While the street event is free, tickets for chili sampling are $10.
Gatlinburg Winter Magic Trolley Ride of Lights: Nov 8 – Jan 31, 2018
In the weeks before Christmas, Gatlinburg, Tennessee goes the extra mile to make guests
feel right at home while providing a festive atmosphere and loads of family fun. Surrounded
by the Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the Gatlinburg Winter Magic Trolley Ride Of
Lights meanders along Gatlinburg’s downtown Parkway, then to River Road and the triangle
shaped area where the two meet.
