The North Woods is recognized across the Midwest as a summer recreation paradise, offering boating, fishing, golfing, hiking, camping and water sports of all kinds. Besides the many recreational activities, most communities and nonprofit organizations in Vilas and Oneida counties plan family-oriented events for residents and vacationers alike during the summer months. The activities range from art, antique and quilt shows to summer festivals, powwows and fishing tournaments. Most of the events include fun for all ages, plus plenty of food and refreshments.
