Outdoor adventures begin at WalkAbout
WalkAbout first opened its doors in 2001 and has been outfitting people for their everyday life with a smile ever since. The term walkabout was first used by Australian aborigines, meaning a journey one would take during adulthood to rediscover one’s self. Owners Joy and Kevin Nelson liked the idea of a walkabout and in the process, rediscovered some things about themselves. “We love helping people discover new things every day and when we started WalkAbout, it was similar to our own personal rediscovery. Opening this store made us realize we really love what we do! Whether it be helping people rediscover an old hobby or find the perfect shoes for a new adventure, WalkAbout can help prepare you for your life’s journey,” said Joy Nelson. WalkAbout features several lines of kayaks made in America. The store also carries canoes from Souris River a
