Robb Morris,” a tune that returns at key moments throughout the piece. The violinist and strings playfully trade musical phrases back and forth in the lively scherzo, which features passages from“ The Dusty Miller.” After what seems like it will be a rousing conclusion to the movement, the violas unexpectedly reprise“ Auld Robb Morris,” and the soloist plays an improvisatory passage to seamlessly transition into the third movement.
