italy SELECTED HIGHLIGHTS OF RISINGS: In CROATIA, a “Handmaid’s March” was held to highlight the symbolism of “obedient” women – with drummers dressed in black – leading the women as if they were going to the guillotine. From north to south in ITALY, many associations, schools, gyms, dance academies, feminist activists, and civilians held OBR flash mobs, parades, demonstrations, readings, discussions, art exhibitions and art laboratories in over 100 lively, colorful and cheerful events. All over the UNITED KINGDOM, performances of “The Vagina Monologues” were held, with OBR dancing afterwards. International domestic workers held an OBR event and danced outside Parliament in London for the rights of migrants, domestic workers and refugees. Artists held OBR festivals. High school students from FIU in MIAMI, USA rose through panels and spoken and sung performances – based on “What You Should Know/ What You Can Do” informational sources. In NEW MEXICO, USA, Capital High School students led the flash mob and took OBR into their respective colleges. There were traditional community testimonies in the town rotunda on OBR day, and “The Vagina Monologues” was staged in cooperation with TEWA indigenous women’s group.
