HONORING
EVE
In May, Eve received the LUCILLE LORTEL LIFETIME ACHIEVEMENT AWARD. The Lortel Awards
recognize excellence in Off-Broadway by honoring the invaluable contribution of artists to the
theatre community.
Later in May, Eve received a LILLY AWARD honor for her work as an outstanding woman in the
American theater. The awards are named for Lillian Hellman, a pioneering American playwright
who famously said “You need to write like the devil and act like one when necessary.”
In June HERE Arts honored Eve in conjunction with their 25th Anniversary with the HERE OUT OF
THE BOX BREAKING BOUNDARIES FOR 25 YEARS award. HERE builds a community that nurtures career
artists as they create innovative hybrid live performance in theatre, dance, music, puppetry, media
and visual art. Eve has a long history with Here who developed several of Eve’s plays including
The Vagina Monologues.
