V-DAY AT TRUMP TOWER
Bia Theatre Ensemble, a
female run theatre company
aiming to produce theatre with
graduates and artists that are
new to NYC, staged a guerrilla
protest reading of The Vagina
Monologues in front of Trump
Tower. The production brought
in both actors and the public
to read the play and stand
in solidarity with victims of
sexual violence and against
perpetrators of such acts who
are in public office.
WOMEN IN PRISON PERFORM
THE VAGINA MONOLOGUES
AT THE FEDERAL
CORRECTIONAL INSTITUTION,
DANBURY CT
20 inmates performed,
with three helping out with
the production, which was
performed for staff and peers
totaling 80.
“This is a HUGE turnout as
there are only 110 inmates at
this facility. It was an AMAZING
experience and the community
was so happy with the event. I
had so much positive feedback
from the women - it was
overwhelming!”
– ORGANIZER OF THE EVENT
