CREATIVITY IN OBR > Makes the movement open and inclusive – which helps bring in other movements that are fighting against exploitation, exclusion and oppression > Sustains people’s attention on issues of VAW – a force needed in the constant struggle against the “normalization” of violence > Enables the popularization and accessibility of the analysis on all forms and roots of VAW, allowing outreach and mobilization into communities and groups in large numbers > Escalates and maximizes the use of social media - using art and technology to provoke thought and incite people into action > Helps overcome taboos, and break cycles of stigma and shame about speaking out on violence – garnering public and visible support by and from communities for Risings > Allows infusion into traditionally patriarchal spaces, to seemingly soften, but also gently introduce VAW issues, for consciousness awareness-raising > Continues to bring in artists into the movement – who create radical, bold, provocative and fearless art for revolution
