PWCE EDUCATIONAL
CENTER IN KABUL
Classes in computer literacy, science, English
and literacy continue to serve local women at the
center which is free of charge. Due to increasingly
high demand, the center serves hundreds of
women in three groups aged 15 - 30. Most of the
women who are currently enrolled come from
economically disadvantaged backgrounds and
many have experienced violence, forced marriage,
and depression. Additionally, a series of seminars
on issues such as domestic violence, legal rights,
rape within marriage, birth control and pregnancy
have proven to be incredibly powerful experiences
for women participants. Many students were
admitted to good faculties of their choice including
medicine, journalism, literature, economics, IT,
etc. Overjoyed families came to the center to give
thanks. PWCE Leadership Center was named one of
the best centers for girls in Kabul by the Ministry of
Education in 2015.
