Examples include: Monica Prince’s What I Learned From 5 years as a Vagina Monologues Actor, Vu Chau’s The Vagina Monologues Empowers Women After 15 Years of Productions, Trans activist and author Mey Rude’s poignant article about her evolving relationship to the vagina in AutoStraddle entitled On Performing In The Vagina Monologues When You Don’t Have A Vagina. After performing the spotlight monologue Crooked Braid in a Production of The Vagina Monologues, Omaha Tribe member Onna Webster LeBeau wrote to V-Day about her experience performing the piece for an audience of women, including many Native American women. Her piece 21 YEARS LATER AND STILL HEALING is a reflection on her continued path of healing and strength.
