Locations were as far ranging as the Kentex factory in the
Philippines that burned down this year, killing 72 people, the
beaches of Somalia, on hundreds of college campuses, in high
schools, and primary schools, in plazas and piazzas, in the
Mexican Chamber of Deputies, in parks, in town squares, on
the steps of the State Capitol in Denver, at iconic landmarks
including Brandenburg Gate, the Eiffel Tower, and the Parthenon,
and in women’s shelters and people’s homes. In India, for
example, from North to South, activists demanded a violence
free nation. Transgender communities rose in Kolkata and youth
rose in New Delhi. 2000 women, girls and boys rose in Bihar
for Violence Free Lives and Women Rising for Self Governance
gathered in Himachal Pradesh.
