UZIEL Fighting System: Police & Military CQC/H2H FEBRUARY 2014 | Page 40

39 Military/Scenario: The Attacker has left some distance between himself and the Officer/Soldier increasing the likelyhood of being shot as this reactionary now works AGAINST the Officer. Breakdown: In picture 2, you will see that I am moving off the centerline of attack or 12 o’clock position at the exact moment that I react to intercept the pistol and change the direction of the arch of fire. In picture 3, my R hand grabs the top of the slide with my forearm blocking the gun frame thereby moving the muzzle away from me. An over-hook using my R arm over the Attackers R arm occurs in picture 3 & 4 precisely at the moment of the leg sweep. The wrist lock is what technically forces the Attacker to start moving downward on a 45 deg to the ground but this is not assured so a sweep is used to support the technique. Notice in picture 6, the wide base that is maintained for balance after the follow through. Details: The firearm is disarmed using a violent ripping motion of down and up. This is an unnatural direction for the bad-guy to maintain a secure grip on the firearm and offers a high percentage of success. The proper reactionary gap can be seen in picture 7, as the Attacker must roll into the field of fire if he attempts to reengage the officer. Safety: Watch each other’s wrists during the takedown as this is where injuries are most likely. Keep fingers out of the trigger guard at all times. UZIEL Fighting Systems 2014
