UZIEL Fighting System: Police & Military CQC/H2H FEBRUARY 2014 | Page 30
29
Police and Military/Scenario:
Surprised by an unarmed attacker who attempts to grab or strike the Officer/Soldier.Environment is
restrictive with no room to create distance or the reactionary gap.
Breakdown:
The support hand is used to deflect the punch. Elbow is raised with the shoulder providing protection to
the side of the L jaw from a knockout. In picture 4 the Attacker is secured around the waist using the
support arm (L) and thrown using a basic hip throw. Picture 5, demonstrates how the leg (L) is used to
sweep BOTH of the opponent’s legs at the same time in a push and pull fashion. Picture 6, illustrates how
dynamic this tactic can be even when using moderate force. This provides a less lethal solution to a
physical encounter.
Details:
Picture 4, shows that the Attacker’s body must be tightly secured to transition into the throw. Any space
will risk a back injury (to the Officer) performing the hip throw. Try and takedown your partner in
proximity to your feet as it will get you used to performing CQC in tight spaces which may have uneven
surfaces and obstacles.
Safety:
Training partner must understand how to perform a break-fall in order to lessen the force of impact when
making contact with the ground.
