add charitable donations to any class or event Now is the time to support your local ocean and environmental organizations. Every time you step into the ocean, or roll off a boat into a lake, or dive in a cave, or a shallow river, someone, someplace, is working to keep that water clean and accessible. And your students should know about this and be able to participate. We have just created a system to add donations to any UTD Scuba Diving class or event. Running Essentials of Scientific Diving? Add a donation to your local aquarium. Running Tech 1? Add a donation to a deep water cleanup project. Running a local boat trip? Add a donation to your local Waterkeeper association. Holding a lecture on gas planning? Add a donation to your local kids’ club. The possibilities are endless. Every student now has an opportunity to make a difference. As an instructor, you can support your local organizations. You can also increase your local awareness using the media to inform your community that UTD scuba classes are supporting the local environment. Simply check the “Take Donations” box when you post an event. Be sure your charitable organization has an account on www.recify.com and has a valid PayPal email address. Once it’s set up, anyone can donate to the charity on behalf of any student.
