UTD IDC, Hemmoor, Germany 23-27 August, 2014 With my experience of nearly 2000 dives in various circumstances (most of them cold, salty and dark down to more then 100 m), trained as GUE Tech 1 and IANTD full trimix, I became part of a UTD IDC at Dive Station Hemmoor. With advice of Instructor Trainer Candidate Michael Deckert, support of Divemaster candidate Charis Rabea Schlundt, and under direct supervision of UTD Instructor Trainer Jeff Seckendorf, I started this UTD IDC with a mixture of expectations and doubt – was I the right candidate for such an interesting challenge: educating people in a way for proper diving. UTD Instructor Candidate Ralf Guder with OW diver Christian Beese. From day to day the doubting went away and was replaced by the conviction: to be trained and become part in developing “thinking divers” is a fantastic opportunity for getting more fun in better diving. Thanks to all participants, especially to Bernadette for the fantastic dinner! Ralf Guder Contact Michael at [email protected] Above left: Ralf debriefs the team.
