DIVE-STATION HEMMOOR A german UTD DIVE CENTER AND A LAKE FOR ALL SEASONS I’ve been to a thousand dive centers, and each is unique in its own way, but Michael Deckert’s Dive-Station Hemmoor is nothing short of amazing. A full-service dive center, fantastic pool access, and five minutes to a year-round lake that sports everything from a submerged forest to Alan Shepard’s old Piper PA-28 single engine airplane. Combine that with two UTD instructors, Michael Deckert and Hans Schroder, and UTD Divemaster Charis Rabea Schlundt, and we can see Hemmoor as an epi-center for UTD in Germany. I was here to teach an IDC and start Michael on the road to instructor trainer, which will make Dive-Station Hemmoor yet another international UTD Leadership Training Center. Watch for upcoming classes, projects, IDC’s and other great dive events in northern Germany and Dive-Station Hemmoor.
