Conduct research on any legal matters as requested by the command crew and present
that research to the command crew
At the request of the commanding officer, conduct investigations into conduct of any
crew member who has been accused of an infraction, as defined in these by?laws
o Results of these investigations, including all documentation submitted by the
parties involved, shall be kept on file. Said files shall be considered “closed” and
not released to anyone who does not have a valid “need to know”.
Assist crew members who feel that another crew member has violated their rights
(either Ship, Regional or Fleet)
Conduct and certify elections of the Commanding Officer and First Officer.
The Ship’s JAG shall NOT:

Provide real?world legal advice to crew members
Act in a manner that could be construed as giving real?world legal advice
Assist members with real?world legal matters
ANY INFORMATION OBTAINED DURING A JAG INVESTIGATION SHALL BE CONSIDERED
PERSONAL, PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL AND SHALL BE HANDLED AND PROTECTED IN
ACCORDANCE WITH ALL APPLICABLE LOCAL, STATE AND FEDERAL REGULATIONS
Recruiting Officer
The Recruiting Officer is the general public’s point of contact for the ship and carries the
responsibility to actively promote the ship and STARFLEET using all available resources. This can
include attending local conventions, posting updates on the Ship’s social media sites, sending
press releases to the local media outlets regarding the Ship’s community activities, etc. This
position can either be combined within the scope of duties of the Chief of Media Services, or
maintained as a separate position, at the discretion of the commanding officer.
Ship’s Counselor
The Ship’s Counselor shall:
? Maintain an active membership in the Ship and is encouraged to have an active
membership in STARFLEET.
? Hold the Ship’s rank of lieutenant commander or commander.
? Assist any member of the crew in finding assistance for problems they feel they are
unable to handle. This may include the referring of the crew member to outside sources
for other types of assistance.
ANY INFORMATION RECEIVED FROM A CREW MEMBER AND PRESENTED TO THE SHIP’S
COUNSELOR SHALL BE CONSIDERED PERSONAL, PRIVATE AND CONFIDENTIAL AND BE HELD IN
