This, of course, is one of Shakespeare’s most famous lines. The play is Henry VI part 2, and the background to the statement was a rebellion by Jack Cade in 1450 against the King. ‘Dick the Butcher’, one of Jack’s henchmen, speaks the line. The line has been interpreted in multiple ways (as any quick Google search will reveal). But this talk will consider if it is literally true – do we need lawyers in a world of digital disruption.
