One of Australia’s foremost guitarists and a
significant composer for the guitar, Doug De Vries
excels in many musical genres, from jazz to tango,
samba and bossa nova.
Doug will present an evening of solo arrangements
and improvisations from notable composers
across the jazz and musica brasileira repertory.
From Duke Ellington to Jobim, Garoto to Django,
Yamandu to his own works, he will draw on the
rich legacy of these great composers and highlight
the guitar’s vast reach in contemporary, popular
and improvised music.
